Synspective is a Tokyo-based satellite engineering and data service providing company. Their main goal is to provide accurate satellite data solutions for decision-making in business, construction, and governments.

Land Displacement Monitoring (LDM) is a service that helps the user understand what areas are affected by severe land sinking and land displacement.

On this project, I was responsible for the overall design and user experience.

Initial Stylescapes

A stylescape is a careful selection of images, typography, texture, and colors in order to communicate a certain look and feel of a brand. They can be considered some kind of mood board with an already slightly more clear design direction. This makes it easier for the stakeholders to choose how their brand should look like. For Synspective I presented them three different stylescapes from which the team was able to choose a design direction for their brand. Please note that the logo and main color (indigo blue) already existed before I joined to company, therefore I had no choice about what they would look like.

The advantage of stylescapes is, that they can open up a conversation about a certain design direction without giving the feeling to the decision-makers that there is a "one size fits it all" solution.

After discussing the stylescapes with the managers and other team members at Synspective, it was easier for me to come up with the design elements of the brand. At the same time, it includes all parties into the design conversation.

The Website

After finalizing the brand guidelines, I hired a design agency to work on our website. The goal was to distinguish Synspective from its competitors with a more modern and unique approach in terms of website design.
I was responsible for the overall project management of the website redesign, including its creative direction. The actual website design was done by Monopo, a Tokyo-based design agency.
